well.. if you go by certain team members' thought process... he has piercings, and one can only freefly if they have tats and piercings.. therefore...

That depiction is a false one. This movie is loaded with propagand. Xexes was a wise man, and an army general. He was not black, he did not have gold piercings. So the answer to your question is neither because the picture you posted is neitehr Persian nor of Xerxes. It is just a made up Hollywood creation.
this is not the real picture of xerxes .. he was a great man in the time of persian (Iranian) impire.
@anonymous, the comic pic may not be too far off. Oh, I'm so sorry that I was born in Iran; I am Iranian, my ancestors were as well,... but I haven't gave a damn about my country's history. The country which has stunning achievements. Great people who - undoubted - had great influences on many parts of the world.
But what about now? They say: "Dominant nations write the history", but nowadays, "dominant movie producers" do it, apparently.
Because of Iran's today senseless and indifferent government, many political propaganda are aimed towards Iranian people to show them wild and barbarian and falsification of history is easy for people who know nothing about the reality.
